Ross House

Alexander Ross (1783-1856) was a Scottish born fur trader and historian. Ross immigrated to Upper Canada in 1805, entered the fur trade in 1810, and retired to Red River in about 1825. He became Sheriff (1839-52) and member of Assiniboia (1836-50). He was author of the First Settlers on the Oregon, Fur Traders of the Far West, and The Red River Settlement, It's Rise, Progress, and Present State.

Ross House is located at 140 Meade St. North. The hours are 11:00 am to 6:00 pm Wednesday through Sunday, June through August.
